ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan continues to face a growing momentum in the spread of dengue fever as the death toll from the disease in the country's southern Sindh province in September has reached 30, the provincial health department reported Thursday evening.
A total of 402 new cases of dengue fever were detected in Sindh in the last 24 hours, the health department said. The worst-hit area was Karachi, the provincial capital, which reported 297 new cases. (Pakistan-Health-Dengue)

PHNOM PENH -- A boat carrying Chinese nationals sunk off southwestern Cambodia's sea on Thursday evening, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia confirmed on Friday.
According to the Chinese embassy, they received a notification from the Cambodian Police Department on Thursday night, saying that the police found a sunken ship which used to have 41 Chinese citizens on board, with 18 having been rescued and the remaining 23 missing. Two Cambodian crew members involved have been arrested. (Cambodia-China-Missing)

KABUL -- Seven people were killed and 41 others injured as a blast rocked the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan area of the Afghan capital on Friday, Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said.
"A car with explosives exploded in front of the Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque, and unfortunately our worshippers who were coming out of the mosque after performing Friday prayers were targeted," Zadran said on his Twitter account. (Afghanistan-Blast-Deaths)

WELLINGTON -- Scientists from the University of Otago have found microplastics in three quarters of commercial fish species of southern New Zealand.
