LUANDA, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Angolan youths are friends of China and represent the future of the two countries' friendship, said Chinese Ambassador to Angola Gong Tao while addressing a forum held here on Wednesday for young people to dialog with foreign diplomats.
"The Chinese Embassy is always willing to promote interpersonal and cultural exchanges," said Gong at the Second International Youth Forum with Embassies in Luanda, Angola's capital.
The Chinese diplomat said there are now about 300 Angolan students attending Chinese universities, and China has awarded more than 150 scholarships to students in Angola over the past five years, adding that a batch of Angolan students whose studies were interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic had returned to China to continue with their studies last month.
China will strengthen the "strategic alignment" with Angola for practical bilateral cooperation in various areas, including human resource training and youth employment, as well as work with Angola to promote economic diversification and realize the sustainable development goals, Gong said.
