China to grant visa-free policy to Canadian, British nationals from Feb. 17
To further facilitate cross-border travel, China decides to, starting from Feb. 17, 2026, extend its visa-free policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the UK, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Sunday.
According to the spokesperson, ordinary passport holders from the two countries can be exempted from visa to enter China and stay for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family/friends visit, exchange and transit purposes.
The policy will be effective until Dec. 31, 2026, the spokesperson said.

Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi left Tehran on Sunday for Geneva for a second round of indirect nuclear talks with the United States, the Foreign Ministry said.

Araghchi is leading what the ministry described as a "diplomatic and specialized" delegation. He is expected to meet Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, among other officials.
Trump would back Israeli strikes on Iran's missile program if talks fail: report
U.S. President Donald Trump said he would support Israeli strikes on Iran's ballistic missile program if negotiations between Washington and Tehran fail, U.S. media reported on Sunday.
Trump made the remarks when he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Florida in December, according to a CBS News report, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
U.S. military and intelligence officials have also discussed how Washington could assist Israel in potential operations against Iran's missile infrastructure, including providing aerial refueling for Israeli aircraft and helping secure overflight permissions from related regional countries, said the report.
EU not ready to set date for Ukraine membership, says Kallas
High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas on Sunday said she felt that the European Union (EU) member states are not ready to give a concrete date regarding Ukraine's EU membership.
"There's a lot of work to be done," she said at the 62nd Munich Security Conference. In the end, "it's always the geopolitical picture" that shapes such decisions, she added.
